How I Became Known for Connecting People, Business and Growth

Credibility in people leadership starts with understanding how the business earns revenue, serves customers and delivers, then sharing experience honestly.

How I Became Known for Connecting People, Business and Growth

My journey in people leadership has grown alongside my understanding of the supply chain and logistics industry. Almost 2 decades along with continuous 10 years at FarEye (SaaS-based Product & Technology), I have learnt that being a useful people leader requires understanding how the business earns revenue, serves customers and delivers on its promises.

In logistics, a delayed delivery is never just a number on a dashboard. It affects a customer, a business and the people working to resolve it. Understanding these connections has shaped how I approach hiring, capability building, leadership and employee experience.

“Being a useful people leader requires understanding how the business earns revenue, serves customers and delivers on its promises.”

Understanding the Business Before Proposing a People Solution

For me, business partnership starts with curiosity. What are we trying to achieve? What is getting in the way? Does the team need more people, different skills, clearer responsibilities or a better way of working?

These questions matter because hiring is not always the answer. Sometimes, the team needs stronger onboarding, better coordination or a manager who can set clearer priorities. Understanding the business helps HR identify the real need and build a useful solution.

I have helped build and manage seven entities globally during my FarEye journey. Working across markets has taught me to connect business expansion plans with the practical requirements of people, payroll and HR operations. Each market brings different expectations, and the challenge is to support local needs while keeping our people's principles consistent.

“Understanding the business helps HR identify the real need and build a useful solution.”

Contributing to the Supply Chain and Logistics Community Along with HR Path

My connection with the wider supply chain and logistics community gives me a broader view of the challenges businesses face. Conversations with industry leaders help me understand how customer expectations, technology and ways of working are changing and what those changes mean for people.

I bring a people perspective to these discussions: What capabilities will teams need? How do we prepare managers for change? How can businesses grow without losing the trust and commitment of their employees?

I believe these questions deserve a place alongside conversations about technology, efficiency and customer experience.

“Behind every solution are people who build it, sell it, implement it and support it. Their ability to work together has a direct impact on the outcome.”

Building Credibility Through Practical Experience

The standing I aim to build outside FarEye comes from sharing experiences that others can use. That means explaining the challenge, the choices we made and the lessons we learnt, including where we had to rethink our approach.

It also means listening. Being part of an industry community should help us become better at our own work. A conversation with a business or supply chain leader can reveal a challenge that we would never see through an HR lens alone.

Speaking and panel opportunities at industry events in Delhi and Gurugram give me a platform to share practical experiences and learn from fellow leaders. My focus is on lessons others can use: building people practices as a company scales, managing operations across markets and preparing teams for change.

Over time, I have learnt that credibility comes from understanding the business well enough to contribute, being dependable when execution gets difficult and sharing your experience honestly.

I would like to be known as a people leader who can connect business goals with what teams need to deliver them and bring that perspective to the wider supply chain and logistics community.
